“Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary.”

How We Help You
-
Traditionally known as “Talk Therapy”, Therapy is a process in which you develop a therapeutic relationship with a trained professional who supports and guides you in insight and towards change in areas of life that you identify sources of distress.
Therapy can:
provide solace and support
increase self-knowledge
enhance the ability to cope
foster personality growth
build skills strategies for living.
-
Typically, you would meet with your therapist on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, initially going over your history and discussing your needs and treatment goals. In sessions, you will explore and process your core struggles, gain greater self-understanding, and learn ways to change how you think, feel, behave, and relate to the others. In-between sessions, you then would integrate these changes in your day-to-day living to experience yourself and life in new ways.
-
In other words, how will I know if therapy has worked?
Healing can often be subjective; many people find as they begin feeling better and their lives improve to their own satisfaction that the need for therapy decreases and may organically choose to discontinue it. Therapy can last a long as you feel you have an ongoing need and are finding it helpful.
